1986 Patek Phillipe Nautilus 3800/001 Full Set
1986 Patek Phillipe Nautilus 3800/001 Full Set
The Watch: Patek and Genta's finest creation: The Nautilus. Originally introduced in 1981, the 3800 was only available to clients from the following year, and marks the first reference with a seconds hand, and an in-house Patek movement (the 335SC). This is a gorgeous example from 1986 with its full set. Of note is the accent mark over the second "E" in "GENÈVE" below 12. Dials with the accent are generally much rarer, with the majority of the production not having one. During the 1980s, we find dials both with and without the accent, however, from about 1990 onwards, all dials appear to no longer feature an accent, with the exception of diamond-set ones. The accent therefore appears to be a feature of the earlier models, for the first 10 years or so of production. 37.5mm.
