The Watch: The Rolex GMT-Master II 16710 “Pepsi” was introduced in 1989 as the follow-up to the 16760 “Fat Lady,” bringing back the slimmer case profile while retaining the independently adjustable 24-hour hand that debuted with the GMT-Master II line. This 1991 example features the classic aluminum red and blue bezel insert, black gloss dial with white gold surrounds, and drilled lugs—a transitional reference bridging vintage charm with modern function.
The 16710 is powered by the Caliber 3185, a COSC-certified automatic movement with a quickset GMT hand, 50-hour power reserve, and the reliability Rolex is known for.
At 40mm, the case wears comfortably while retaining the unmistakable GMT presence. This piece includes its original papers and hang tags—an increasingly rare combo for collectors.
Condition: Vintage condition. Ghosted red side of the bezel insert with numerous small marks. Small lume cracks on the hands.
Includes: Watch, red hangtag, green hangtag, original papers.
