2000's Piaget Emperador Automatic in 18k White Gold
2000's Piaget Emperador Automatic in 18k White Gold
The Watch: The Piaget Emperador was launched in 1957, served its time as a mid-century classic, and then relaunched in 1999 as foothold in the new millennium for the brand. One year later, the jury of Montres Passion awarded the prize of “Watch of the Year” to the Emperador model. It’s a fitting name. Thick and substantial, in a 32x41mm tonneau case, a contrast from Piaget’s usual smaller, thinner dress watches, you can feel the weight of the gold on your wrist. The dial consists of interlocking rectangles, from a diamond pyramide outer track, to the elegant hour indices, to the Piaget logo sitting above an inboard diamond pyramide field, and the same repeated in a small seconds display at the 9, all above a 40 hour power reserve. Understated but powerful, from a classic brand.
Condition: The case is unpolished and honest, there is a small chip in the upper right of the crystal, the strap and buckle are aftermarket.
Includes: Watch only.
