The Watch: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Ref. 25721ST, introduced in 1993, was a radical evolution of the original Royal Oak, pushing Gérald Genta’s 1972 design into a new era of oversized, high-performance luxury sports watches. Designed by Emmanuel Gueit, the Offshore was initially met with skepticism—Genta himself hated it—but it quickly found a youthful audience and became a cornerstone of AP’s modern identity.
This 2004 example stays true to the original blueprint, featuring a 42mm stainless steel case, blue petite tapisserie dial, and the signature rubber-clad pushers and crown that set it apart. Inside, the AP Caliber 2226/2840—a JLC ébauche with a Dubois-Depraz chronograph module—drives the watch, offering a 50-hour power reserve. The 15mm case thickness and integrated steel bracelet maintain the imposing presence that earned it the nickname "The Beast."
A defining model in the evolution of modern luxury sports watches, this full-set 2004 Offshore 25721ST is part of a lineage that continues to shape AP’s design language today.
Condition: Good condition, some visible marks on the bezel and bracelet. See photos.
