The Watch: The Franck Muller 7000 CC represents "The Master of Complications" at his finest—before Franck Muller became known for bold tonneau cases, this round chronograph showcased the brand's early mastery of classical watchmaking. Franck Muller began his career at the age of 15 when he enrolled in the Watchmaking School of Geneva, and would later go on to do high-end independent restoration and repair work for pocket watches and wristwatches for The Patek Philippe Collection as well as individual collectors and auction houses.

This 2004 example features a striking black and white dial with luminescent Arabic numeral hour markers on a black minutes track, and contrasting white chronograph subdials at and 12 and 6 o'clock. The tachymetre outboard and inner spiral pulsations scale give the watch the classic aesthetic of a doctor's watch.

The platinum case measures 39mm diameter by 13mm thickness with a fixed rounded platinum bezel and domed sapphire crystal. The substantial weight of platinum combined with the refined 39mm proportions creates a watch that wears with authority yet remains elegant. The sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the beautifully finished automatic movement with signature platinum rotor.

These early round Franck Mullers represent a golden era of the brand's production: refined, classical designs with exceptional finishing and complications, before the more flamboyant styles that would later define the marque. This platinum version is particularly rare and desirable among collectors.
