The Watch: The Rolex Yacht-Master Ref. 16623 in a 40mm case size is neo-vintage Rolex at its finest. Launched as the luxurious above-the-waves counterpart to the more industrial Submariner, this example is crafted in Rolesor, Rolex’s pairing of stainless steel and yellow gold. But the bigger draw here is the factory Tahitian Mother of Peal dial. Appearing as a moody purple without direct light, once lit the natural iridescence of the nacre throws greens, pinks, blues, and yellows across the dial.
The case is 40mm with the caliber 3135 inside, Rolex's workhorse automatic running at 28,800 vph with a 48-hour power reserve. The Oyster bracelet is two-tone steel and 18k yellow gold with a flip-lock clasp. Water resistance is 100 meters.
D serial indicates 2005-2006 production year.
Condition: Excellent condition with only light signs of wear consistent with age. Dial and crystal are clean. Bracelet fits a 7.75" wrist.
