D. Dornblüth & Sohn was founded in 1999 by Dieter Dornblüth and his son Dirk. In 2002, the company released its first production model. Since then they've generally produced about 120-180 pieces per year.
This is a very early (2005, sub movement # 100) ref 99.1, an iteration of their 99 calibre cased in 40mm of steel with a small seconds subdial and applied indices. This is the platonic ideal of a small-batch German watch.
