The Watch: The Cartier Tank Américaine Large ref. W2603256 represents one of Cartier’s most elegant expressions of the Tank lineage. Introduced in the late 1980s as a modern reinterpretation of the elongated Tank Cintrée, the Américaine emphasizes the house’s flair for proportion, with its slim, curved rectangular case and elongated Roman numerals.
This example, in solid 18k white gold, is the large size at 45mm x 26mm, giving it commanding wrist presence while retaining the refined curves that make it wearable. The silver guilloché dial features Cartier’s signature Roman numerals, blued steel hands, and a date aperture at 6 o’clock. Inside is the automatic Cartier Caliber 120.
Condition: Good overall condition with light wear consistent with age. There is a small ding on one side of the case, visible in certain angles. The dial and crystal are clean, and the movement runs well.
