The Watch: Anybody want a cheap Gruebel Forsey? The Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity stands as one of the brand’s most innovative creations, blending traditional horology with a bold, modern aesthetic. Launched in 2014, it was among the first timepieces to feature a fully exposed silicon assortment—lever, escape wheel, and balance spring—visible on the dial side. No surprise that Patrick Graells, product lead at Maurice Lacroix during development of this line, ended up at Gruebel Forsey.
This reference, MP6118-PVB01-130, features a PVD-coated stainless steel case that measures 43mm in diameter. Its asymmetric dial design showcases a silver-toned subdial for the hours and minutes at 2 o’clock, offset against the exposed balance wheel and escapement at 8 o’clock. The layered construction and mix of brushed, matte, and polished finishes emphasize both mechanical complexity and contemporary design.
Inside beats the in-house Caliber ML230, an automatic movement with a 50-hour power reserve and silicon components that improve precision and reduce wear. The sapphire caseback reveals additional finishing details, including perlage and côtes de Genève.
Condition: Excellent pre-owned condition. Light surface wear consistent with minimal use. Original Maurice Lacroix strap and PVD-coated clasp included. Running well.
Includes: Box only, no papers.
