The Watch: Vacheron Constantin has been making watches continuously since 1755, a run no other manufacture can match. The Traditionnelle collection exists as the brand's most direct statement about that history, drawing its design codes from 18th century Genevan watchmaking: the stepped case flanks, the fluted caseback, the railroad minute track, the dauphine hands. Where the Patrimony leans minimal, the Traditionnelle keeps the architecture of the old workshops in view.
Reference 87172/000G-9301 is the self-winding model in 18k white gold, measuring 38mm with a slim 8mm profile. The silvered dial carries applied white gold baton markers, a date aperture at 3, and a small seconds register at 9. Inside is the in-house caliber 2455, stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva and finished accordingly, with a 22k gold oscillating weight modeled on the Maltese cross visible through the sapphire caseback. It wears like a Calatrava but weightier.
This 2011 example comes as a full set in very good condition, showing light wear consistent with careful use.
Condition: Very good, light wear.
Includes: Full set.
