The Watch: The Roger Dubuis La Monégasque MG42-821-90-00/0ER01/B is another timeless creation from one of the pre-eminent modern brands
The dial and case are an art-deco masterpiece, the cushion shape of the Monegasque line linking the model to legendary creations such as the Roger Dubuis Sympathie, while the sharp lines and applied arabic indices of the dial convey the same glamour and exuberance of the model's namesake, Monte Carlo.
Powering this masterpiece is movement RD821, self-winding manufacture movement with frequency 28,800 vph (4Hz), 168 parts, 3.43mm thickness, Geneva Seal, 33 jewels, and 48 hours power reserve. The Poinçon de Genève (or Geneva Seal) is awarded to just a fraction of watches produced in Switzerland each year—according to Robert Dubuis, only 24,000 of over 20 million.
The exhibition caseback reveals the beautifully finished movement proudly bearing both the "Manufacture Roger Dubuis" inscription and the prestigious Geneva Seal—proof of superior craftsmanship assembled, adjusted, and finished in the Canton of Geneva.
