The Watch: The Rolex Explorer II Ref. 216570 is the modern evolution of Rolex’s rugged adventure watch, first introduced in 2011 to mark the model’s 40th anniversary. With its 42mm case size, the 216570 introduced a bolder profile compared to its predecessor while retaining the Explorer II’s core functionality: a fixed 24-hour bezel, independent GMT hand, and robust Oystersteel construction.
This example features the glossy black dial with applied Chromalight markers and the iconic oversized orange 24-hour hand, a nod to the original 1971 Explorer II “Freccione.” Powered by the Rolex Caliber 3187, it offers COSC-certified precision, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a 48-hour power reserve.
Condition: Very good condition overall, with some marks visible on the case sides. The dial and crystal are clean, the bracelet is tight, and the watch is running well.
