The Watch: The Audemars Piguet Millenary 4101, ref 15350ST, is a comeback story for the brand. The line was originally launched in 1995, in anticipation of the millennium (hence the name). Its off-center dial and neoclassical design were fascinating but never a big hit with collectors. As time went on, AP redesigned the case, making the lugs thicker and more distinct and the dials more overtly asymmetrical, culminating in the 4101 in 2011, considered the flagship reference for the line. 47mm across but pay more attention to the lug-to-lug of 49.3mm.
This model is one of AP's more daring designs in the dial layout, numeral shapes, case proportions, and in simply laying the AP Cal. 4101 bare on both the dial and caseback.
