The Watch: IWC and AMG share a border and a language. IWC's been in Schaffhausen since 1868. AMG's been in Baden-Württemberg since 1967, building high-performance cars. The partnership started in 2004, with the relaunch of the Ingenieur, drawing connections between German engineering of all types.
46mm ceramic case, nearly scratch-proof, hard as sapphire, black straight through. The lugs are virtually non-existent, so it wears smaller than the diameter suggests. Lug-to-lug is about the size of a modern Submariner.
Black-on-black with contrast: polished ceramic bezel, matte case, glossy lacquer dial. Black oxidized indexes and hands. Dished dial with outboard minute track. Everything's coordinated with just enough contrast to create visual interest.
Powered by IWC's in-house caliber 80110 with Pellaton bi-directional winding system, designed in 1950 by Albert Pellaton. The movement's sized specifically for this case—no spacers, no wasted geography.
Condition: Excellent condition with some light marks visible in photos.
Includes: Papers from 2016.
