The Watch: Laine is a small independent atelier founded by Finnish watchmaker Torsti Laine, a graduate of WOSTEP and former member of Kari Voutilainen’s workshop. Known for his masterful guilloché dials and artisanal finishing, Laine produces only a handful of watches each year, making each piece highly individual.
The Gelidus 2 embodies the brand’s philosophy of blending classical aesthetics with hand-finished detail. This example features a salmon dial with applied Breguet numerals, etched and media-blasted from a single steel disc, finished with heat-blued steel hands. The 40.5mm stainless steel case offers balanced proportions with elegant lines and a mix of polished and brushed finishing.
Inside is the Laine-modified ETA 6498 base movement, heavily reworked with frosted bridges, polished bevels, perlage, and hand-applied details. The movement is manually wound, reliable, and beautifully finished to the standards of haute horlogerie.
Condition: Excellent condition with light signs of handling. Running well and all functions working properly.
