The Watch: A Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph, 81020-11-631-11A. With a brand history of in-house creations dating back to 1791, Girard-Perregaux is a classic watchmaker with a track record of innovation. One of the first luxury steel sports watches, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato, was released in 1975, a full year before the Patek Philippe Nautilus made its debut. Named after the 1970s film “Il Laureato”, The Graduate, The Laureato is considered to be one of the forerunners of the luxury steel sports watch category, along with the Nautilus and Royal Oak. This is a 42mm Chronograph version, powered by the in-house calibre GP03300, a self-winding chronograph movement driving two counters and a small seconds along with a date display. Comes full set dated 2022, in near-mint condition.
