The Watch: Habring² is one of the best brands in independent watchmaking. Founded in 2004 by Richard and Maria Habring, the Austrian brand specializes in mechanically pure, beautifully finished, and accessibly priced timepieces—a rarity in today’s high-end watch world. Richard Habring, a former IWC engineer, is best known for developing the Doppelchronograph mechanism for IWC in the early '90s. Today, Habring² focuses on small-scale, handmade watches, blending traditional craftsmanship with smart, in-house innovations. They make approximately 200 watches a year.
The Habring² Chrono-Felix Monopusher in salmon is a perfect example of their philosophy—an understated, mechanically refined, and distinctly personal chronograph. Released in 2022, it features a 38.5mm stainless steel case, classic proportions, and a stunning salmon dial with a subtle sunburst finish, blued steel hands, and a recessed small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the A11C-H1 movement, an in-house-developed caliber inspired by the legendary Valjoux 7750, but completely reworked by Habring². It features a manual wind, column wheel chronograph, and upgraded finishing, offering both mechanical purity and robust reliability. The monopusher design, with its single pusher at 2 o’clock, makes for a uniquely engaging chronograph experience.
