The Watch: The Tank Américaine has always stood apart in the Cartier catalog—a more elongated, curvaceous evolution of the original Tank. This 2023 update subtly reworks the dimensions, thinning the profile while enhancing wrist presence with a case that curves naturally along the wrist.
The stainless steel case measures 41.6mm x 22.6mm and features a brushed silver dial with Roman numerals, blued sword hands, and a railroad minute track—timeless Cartier codes, executed with restraint. Inside is the manual-winding Caliber 1899 MC, a new in-house movement designed to fit the Américaine’s sleek case.
Fitted with a black alligator strap and steel buckle, it wears like a piece of jewelry but performs like a proper mechanical watch. Elegant, architectural, and distinctly Cartier.
