The Watch: The Speedmaster 57 references 1957, the first year of the Speedmaster line. This 2022 redesign fixes what didn't work about the 2013 version: it's smaller (40.5mm vs 41.5mm), thinner (13.2mm vs 16.5mm), and now manual wind instead of automatic.
Bright burgundy dial with granular texture, like a Patek 5524. Vintage twin-register layout even though it's a tri-register chronograph: chrono seconds at center, coaxial hours and minutes at 3 o'clock. Dramatically boxed sapphire crystal evoking vintage Plexiglas. Broad arrow hands. Date at 6.
The bracelet looks period-correct: thin links, polished outer faces, brushed centers. Push-button micro-adjust gives about 2.5mm of sizing on the fly.
Powered by Omega's in-house manual wind with column wheel, vertical clutch, Co-Axial escapement. The vertical clutch means no hand jump when starting the chronograph, and you can leave it running constantly without wear. Independent hour hand for travel time adjustment. 60-hour power reserve, anti-magnetic to 15,000+ gauss, Master Chronometer certified.
Manual wind keeps it thin. Losing the rotor dropped over 3mm of case thickness compared to the old automatic version.
