The Watch: IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 AMG IW388305 Released in 2024, the IW388305 is IWC’s most performance-driven take on its signature pilot’s chronograph. Built in partnership with Mercedes-AMG, the case is crafted from lightweight Grade 5 titanium with a sandblasted finish, giving it a muted, technical look that feels closer to the racetrack than the runway.
The dial is classic IWC: high-contrast black with white luminous Arabic numerals, recessed chronograph subdials, and a day-date display at 3 o’clock. Inside beats the IWC Caliber 69385: a column-wheel automatic movement with a 46-hour power reserve and vertical clutch construction, visible through the sapphire caseback.
It comes fitted on a black rubber strap with a woven textile inlay and the brand’s EasX-CHANGE quick-release system for tool-free swaps. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters, making this more than just a desk pilot.
