The Watch: The Type XX designation dates to the early 1950s, when the French Ministry of Air asked watchmakers to produce a chronograph for the Air Force. Breguet won that contract, and the resulting watches became some of the most sought-after military chronographs of the era. Civilian versions followed in the late 1950s and 1960s, and Breguet has revisited the lineage several times since.
The 2067 is the latest interpretation, and Breguet calls it the civilian version. The connection to the 1950s originals is visible in the layout: three sub-registers (15-minute counter at 3 o'clock, 12-hour totalizer at 6, running seconds at 9) arranged around a black dial with Arabic numerals and a date aperture at 4:30. The fluted bidirectional bezel with engraved numerals adds grip and a period-appropriate look. Arabic numerals, hands, and the bezel triangle are coated with ivory-colored lume, which gives the dial a warmer character than the typical white or green luminescence.
The case is 42mm in stainless steel, 14.1mm thick, with a sapphire caseback. Inside is Breguet's caliber 728, a new movement running at 36,000 vph (5 Hz) with a silicon balance spring, an inverted in-line lever escapement with silicon horns, and a blackened solid gold oscillating rotor. The high beat rate and flyback function make this a genuinely capable chronograph rather than a heritage tribute that happens to have pushers. Power reserve is 60 hours. Water resistance is 100 meters.
The watch ships with two interchangeable straps, a calfskin leather and a NATO textile, with a rapid interchange system that lets you swap between them without tools.
