The Watch: The SeaQ is Glashütte Original's entry into the dive watch category, modeled after the Spezimatic Typ RP TS 200 that the brand produced in 1969 for sports divers during the GDR era. When Glashütte Original revived the design in 2019, they kept the bold printed Arabic numerals and vintage proportions while adding modern materials and an in-house movement.
The 39.5mm stainless steel case is 12.15mm thick and rated to 200 meters, meeting both DIN and ISO dive watch standards. The unidirectional rotating bezel has a black ceramic inlay with a half-minute detent for dive timing. The black dial is hand-finished with a sunburst decoration and printed numerals and indices coated in "Old Radium" Super-LumiNova, the warm beige tone that gives the watch its tropical character. The same lume treatment on the hands glows blue in the dark.
The caliber 39-11 is Glashütte Original's in-house automatic, running at 28,800 vph with a 40-hour power reserve. Despite the closed stainless steel caseback (which references the 1969 original, engraved with a trident and 20 waves), the movement inside carries the brand's signature German finishing: Glashütte ribbing, beveled edges, and a swan's neck fine adjustment.
