The Watch: Founded in 1996 by Michel Parmigiani, Parmigiani Fleurier is a relatively young but highly respected name in haute horology. Before establishing his eponymous brand, Parmigiani earned a reputation as one of the world’s finest watch restorers, preserving priceless historical timepieces for institutions like the Patek Philippe Museum and the Sandoz Foundation. It was this mastery of traditional watchmaking techniques, combined with a vision for modern luxury, that laid the groundwork for the creation of Parmigiani Fleurier. Today, the brand is known for its fully integrated manufacturing process, producing nearly every component in-house—including movements, cases, and dials—making it one of the few truly vertical watchmakers in the world.
The Tonda 1950 Skeleton pares things down without losing structure. The 39mm stainless steel case is polished throughout, slim at just under 8mm, and shaped with Parmigiani’s signature teardrop lugs—functional, ergonomic, and unmistakably theirs.
The dial is fully openworked, with a sapphire disc bearing applied indices and delta hands hovering over the PF705 caliber. The bridges are hand-beveled and cut with restraint—no excessive decoration, no overbuilt architecture—just clean lines and considered finishing. A platinum micro-rotor keeps the movement thin and winds from both directions.
It’s 21,600 vph, 48-hour power reserve, adjusted to five positions, and finished to a standard that rewards a loupe.
