The Watch: M.A.D.Editions is Maximilian Büsser's accessibly-priced sister project to MB&F, originally launched in 2021 as a way to thank MB&F's "Tribe" of owners and "Friends" of suppliers. The success of the original M.A.D.1 turned what was meant to be a private gesture into a brand that has reshaped what Swiss-made independent watchmaking can look like at this price point.

The M.A.D.1S is the second-generation platform, launched in 2024 with a slimmer 15mm case (down from 18mm on the original) and the brand's first Swiss movement: the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic, beating at 28,800 vph with a 68-hour power reserve. The hour display uses a single rotating cylinder visible through a side window, with a fixed minute scale on the dial.

The Yinka Ilori "Grow Your Dreams" trilogy was M.A.D.Editions' second artist collaboration, following Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Ilori is a London-based British-Nigerian multidisciplinary designer whose work spans architecture, furniture, fashion, and public installations, all unified by a maximalist use of color. The "Grow Your Dreams" series came in three colorways: Sun (yellow), Nature (green), and Water (blue). Each is limited to 400 pieces.

This is the Nature variant. The titanium rotor is anodized green, with each blade milled with a tree motif and the "Grow Your Dreams" mantra etched and filled with Super-LumiNova. The bezel uses HyCeram (a high-tech liquid ceramic that's heat-cured and hand-polished) for color set directly into the bezel rather than applied as a coating. The Arabic numerals on the hour cylinder were designed by Ilori himself. The Nature variant ships with a mismatched purple and red rubber strap with stamped leaf patterns, plus an interchangeable white strap for occasions when the colorway is too much.

The 42mm stainless steel case, the redesigned lugs, and the sapphire and tempered glass display windows complete a watch that is genuinely playful without sacrificing the engineering integrity of an MB&F project.
