The Watch: The 25721TI is the original Offshore Chronograph in titanium: a reference that helped define the luxury-meets-brutalism aesthetic of early 2000s Audemars Piguet. Nicknamed "The Beast," this reference took the design language of the original Royal Oak and turned the volume up across the board.
The 42mm case is crafted from lightweight titanium with a brushed finish, paired with a black rubber-clad bezel, pushers, and crown. The dial is a blue-grey with the original Tapisserie pattern no longer available on Offshores (since replaced with the Mega Tapisserie, such as on the 15710ST Diver) and concentric blue/grey subdials, a tachymeter scale, and white, lumed "bathtub" indices—sporty, legible, unapologetically aggressive, and in titanium also shockingly light, and perfect for daily wear.
Inside is the Caliber 2226/2840, built on the Jaeger-LeCoultre 889 base with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module: reliable, modular, and finished to AP’s standard. The Offshore caseback is solid, as it should be, and the watch is water resistant to 100 meters.
This is the Offshore before the era of colored ceramic and openworked everything.
