The Clock: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore desk clock, reference MG.CD.AC.AP0100.011.16, was released in 2016 and built to mirror the Royal Oak Offshore Diver ref. 15710ST.OO.A002CA.02. AP has never offered these commercially. They go out through the boutiques to select clients, which accounts for how rarely they surface.
The case measures 66mm across and 28mm thick, weighing 340 grams in satin-brushed stainless steel. Two signed crowns sit in the Offshore Diver arrangement. The crown at 3 o'clock switches the alarm on and off, while the one between 10 and 11 is fixed and present for the look. A black rubber gasket runs between bezel and case, carried over from the wristwatch.
The silver-toned dial carries the Mega Tapisserie pattern behind an inner bezel that is fixed rather than rotating. A quartz movement drives hours, minutes, and the alarm, with no date. Setting happens from the back through two knurled knobs above the battery compartment, each requiring firm downward pressure while turning. An octagonal fold-out stand is built into the caseback for use away from the wooden base.
