The Watch: The Chronomat is Breitling's flagship, born in 1984 from a collaboration with the Italian aerobatic squadron Frecce Tricolori. The original was a pilot's chronograph with rider tabs on the bezel for gloved operation at altitude. The modern Chronomat 36 distills that DNA into a more versatile package: same rider tabs, same integrated bracelet, but sized for wrists that find 42mm excessive.
The A10380101C1A1 presents a blue dial with applied indices, the color calibrated to shift between navy and something brighter depending on the light. The 36mm steel case wears larger than the number suggests thanks to the integrated bracelet and bezel presence. Breitling's caliber 10 inside is a COSC-certified automatic with a 42-hour power reserve.
