The Watch: The Ballon Bleu arrived in 2007 as Cartier's first major new watch design in decades. The collection's signature elements are the protected crown at 3 o'clock, and the domed sapphire, giving it its "ballon" look. It was a departure from the angular Tank and Santos lines, introducing curves where Cartier had historically favored straight edges.
Reference W6920052 scales the design up to 44mm and adds a chronograph. The black guilloché dial carries Roman numerals in the traditional Cartier style, with the date relocated to 9 o'clock to accommodate subdials at 3 and 6. The Caliber 8101 MC handles timekeeping with a 42-hour power reserve. An exhibition caseback with the same domed quality as the dial sapphire reveals the movement.
This example comes watch only on its original blue alligator strap.
Condition: Very good. Some light marks on the case.
Includes: Watch only.
