The Watch: The Tank Divan arrived in 2002 and asked a simple question: what if the Tank laid down? Named for the elongated Ottoman lounging couch that became fashionable in 19th century Europe, the Divan flipped the traditional Tank orientation from vertical to horizontal. The result was a watch that curved around the wrist rather than sitting atop it.
Reference W6300755 is the automatic version in steel, produced during the Divan's short run from 2002 to 2007. The 38mm x 30mm case houses Cartier's caliber 120, a 20-jewel automatic movement visible through the eight-screw caseback. The dial retains the Cartier essentials: guilloché silver finish, radial Roman numerals that stretch toward the case edges, blued steel sword hands, and the hidden signature at VII. A blue spinel cabochon crowns the winding stem.
The Divan was discontinued after just five years, making it one of the rarer modern Tank variants. Despite never finding popular embrace, it remains beloved in our hearts.
