Vintage 1976 Cartier Tank “La Nature” Palisandre de Rio dial with same trim. This ref was an experiment by Cartier New York, and lasted only a couple of years. In 1972, Robert Hocq, assisted by a group of investors, bought Cartier Paris. In 1974 and 1976, respectively, the group repurchased Cartier London and Cartier New York, thus re-connecting Cartier worldwide. With the new corporate unity came the end of many experimental designs, including this one. Luckily we have our hands on an example that’s freshly serviced, running and wearing like new.
