The Watch: Frederique Constant is a watchmaker founded in the late 1980's meant to make high horology dress watches, similar to the Big Three, but at a much more affordable price point (generally sub-$5000). In my opinion what's most interesting about the brand is where it starts to reach into ultra-high complications, tourbillons, skeletons, perpetual calendars...all 3 in one watch. That's where the brand starts to really shine because you get to see just how cheap something very expensive can get.
Here's something with another little nuance to it: it's a 42mm full rose gold case. Most of the FC Slimline Perpetuals made are gold plated, ref FC-775X4S4 or FC-775V4S4. This one is solid 18k, FC-775X4S9. I believe FC makes their precious metal cases in limited runs of under 50, and I expect this one to be exceedingly rare.
All that said, it's also exceedingly reasonably priced. Where else will you find a precious metal perpetual calendar for under 10k?
(Note that the buckle, though original, is plated)
Condition: Excellent condition.
