The Watch: The PanoMaticLunar is probably the single best argument for why Glashütte Original deserves more attention than it gets. The asymmetric dial layout is organized around the golden ratio, with the off-center time display at the left, panorama date at 4 o'clock, small seconds below, and a moon phase display at the right. It sounds busy, but the proportions are what make it work. Each element has its own space without competing for attention.

Reference 1-90-02-36-12-05 is the 42mm version with the grey dial and an arabic 12, a slightly more sporty version of the line. The dial features applied indices and white gold hands against a grey ground. The auxiliary dials for the time display and small seconds carry the brand's signature concentric finishing. The panorama date uses two coplanar discs (a feat of mechanical engineering: most date displays use a single rotating disc with cutout numerals) to deliver large, legible date numerals without the visual interruption of the bridge that would otherwise be necessary. The moon phase disc at 2 o'clock is finished in-house, with the moons milled and then polished with a diamond-tipped tool against a deep blue night sky.

The 42mm stainless steel case houses the caliber 90-02, visible through the sapphire caseback. This is where the German finishing tradition shows itself: a Glashütte three-quarter plate, skeletonized off-center rotor with stripe finishing, blued screws, polished steel components, and the brand's signature duplex swan's neck fine adjustment. The movement runs at 28,800 vph with a 42-hour power reserve.
