The Watch: A refined expression of Saxon watchmaking, the Glashütte Original PanoMaticReserve combines asymmetrical dial architecture with practical complications and exceptional finishing. This example, purchased originally at Radcliffe Jewelers in Baltimore in 2010, is a testament to the enduring quality and design of Glashütte Original in the late 2000s.
The stainless steel case measures 40mm across and features the brand’s hallmark off-center layout. A silver dial is home to the offset hours and minutes, a small seconds subdial, and a power reserve indicator arching gracefully across the top right. A big date complication sits at 4 o’clock, adding further visual balance and legibility.
Inside is the in-house Caliber 90-03, a beautifully decorated automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The signature three-quarter plate, hand-engraved balance cock, and double swan-neck fine adjustment are visible through the sapphire caseback.
