The Watch: The Portugieser Automatic 7-Day has become one of IWC’s modern icons: large, clean, and engineered with restraint. This reference, IW500705, features a 42.3mm stainless steel case and a crisp white dial with applied Arabic numerals, feuille hands, and a railway minutes track—classic Portugieser design, descended from 1930s marine chronometers.
The layout is balanced: small seconds at 9, power reserve indicator at 3, and a discreet date at 6. The case is just under 14mm thick and fitted to a black alligator strap with a signed deployant clasp.
Inside is the in-houseCaliber 52010, an automatic movement with twin barrels, ceramic winding system, and a full7-day power reserve—visible through the exhibition caseback.
