Born in 1931 out of a practical need for durability, the Reverso was originally designed for British polo players in India who wanted a watch that could withstand the rigors of their sport. The ingenious swiveling case protected the fragile glass dial by flipping it over, exposing a solid metal caseback. Over the decades, the Reverso evolved from a purely utilitarian design into a true icon of Art Deco elegance and mechanical mastery.
Fast forward to today, and the Reverso Tribute Duoface Q3988482 continues the legacy of the reversible case while offering a modern twist: two dials, two time zones, one stunning watch. The 47mm x 28.3mm stainless steel case retains the classic proportions of the Reverso line, with beautifully polished surfaces and brushed flanks. The case thickness of just 10.3mm ensures it wears comfortably despite its dual-dial functionality.
On the front side, you’ll find a white, pebble-textured dial with polished blue baton hour markers and Dauphine hands. Flip the case, and you’ll find the second dial—this time in a midnight blue, finished with a Clous de Paris guilloché texture and a day/night indicator at 6 o’clock.
Powering the Duoface is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house Caliber 854A/2, a manually wound movement with a 42-hour power reserve. True to the brand’s commitment to fine watchmaking, the movement is meticulously hand-finished and assembled at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legendary Manufacture in Le Sentier, Switzerland. While the movement remains hidden, its precision and craftsmanship are palpable with every winding of the crown.
