The Watch: The IWC Yacht Club II 3312 is a criminally underrated example of Gérald Genta’s integrated sports watch legacy. Released in 1977 during the height of the Quartz Crisis, the Yacht Club II was the second Genta-designed model for IWC after the famed Ingenieur SL. But unlike that model’s overtly technical feel, the Yacht Club II is more restrained, with a gentler elegance that makes it one of the most wearable and quietly sophisticated integrated designs of its time.

The 38mm case features Genta’s signature geometry: a broad octagonal bezel with polished chamfers and radial brushing integrated into a slender profile that hugs the wrist. Vertical brushing across the case and bracelet preserves the architectural crispness. The recessed crown and flush sapphire crystal further emphasize the design purity.

This example features a sliver dial, faceted applied indices, and sharp pencil hands with creamy aged lume. The bracelet tapers gracefully from broad rectangular end links into flat, H-style links fully brushed and cohesive with the rest of the case.

Inside is IWC’s in-house Caliber 2250 quartz movement, a high-grade example of early Swiss quartz engineering. When new, these quartz models actually retailed for more than their mechanical counterparts, and they remain desirable today for their slimness and reliability.

Of note: the previous owner had the seconds hand professionally removed for a cleaner aesthetic, but it will be included should the next owner wish to reinstall it.

Condition: Excellent overall. The case and bracelet remain sharp with only light surface wear. Dial and hands are pristine. The seconds hand has been removed but is included.

Includes: Watch head with integrated bracelet (fits ~7.5”), removed seconds hand.

This is a refined and historically important piece of Gérald Genta design—an understated integrated icon that bridges quartz innovation and mechanical elegance.
