The Watch: Launched in 2022, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time adds a GMT complication to the Spirit collection, paying tribute to the brand’s history of aviation watches and its pioneering involvement with global explorers. The name “Zulu Time” is a nod to the military term for Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), reflecting the watch’s roots in navigation and precision.
This reference features a 42mm stainless steel case with a ceramic bidirectional rotating bezel, a crisp sunburst blue dial, applied Arabic numerals, and gold-tone hands with Super-LumiNova for legibility. The second time zone is tracked via a gold GMT hand and a 24-hour scale around the bezel.
Powered by the COSC-certified Longines Caliber L844.4, the movement offers a 72-hour power reserve, silicon balance spring, and independent local hour hand adjustment—features typically found in much higher-priced pieces. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters and features a screw-down crown and sapphire crystal.
