Piaget 1960's Manual Wind Brick Bracelet Watch 18K White Gold 9561A
The Watch: Piaget is a brand that drips mid-century history. Yves Piaget (still the president of the brand) was operating in his own inimitable style: smaller, jewel-like dials, and cases and bracelets in precious metals that straddled the line between watch and jewelry. They were masters of ultra-thin movements and high-art creations, to the point that Gerald Genta's masterpiece, the Nautilus, was originally envisioned as a Piaget creation.
Watches from this era through the 80's and 90's (before Piaget was absorbed by The Richemont Group, a whole separate discussion) are considered some of the finest, most unique creations on the market, and are currently hitting a new peak as smaller watches are getting rediscovered.
This is a circa 1969 manual wind example in 18k white gold. The 24x23mm dial features a gorgeous linen pattern, while the integrated bracelet (~7") has is finished to a captivating finish that looks like a modernist animal print. If you're looking for a subtle touch of flash, this is the one.
Includes: Watch only.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. There is a small scratch on the crystal. The dial and case are in mint/near mint condition.
