The Watch: Zenith’s El Primero movement is one of the most storied in modern watchmaking—a high-frequency automatic chronograph introduced in 1969 that still ranks among the best today. This limited edition reference, 17.0500.400, houses that same legendary caliber in a case that trades steel for solid 18k rose gold.
At 39mm, the case wears comfortably with vintage sensibility, but plenty of presence thanks to the polished gold surfaces and rounded pushers. The dial layout is classic El Primero: overlapping subdials at 3, 6, and 9, with a tachymeter scale at the edge and a date tucked between 4 and 5.
Inside beats the El Primero Caliber 400, running at 36,000 vibrations per hour with a column wheel and horizontal clutch. True high-beat mechanics with a 50-hour power reserve.
Condition: Excellent pre-owned condition. Very light signs of wear. Running accurately.
Includes: Full set with box and papers.
This reference was produced in a limited run of 750 pieces, offering a rare chance to own a gold El Primero with the full package and timeless appeal.
